NFL Mock Draft: Part XIV

After the Dolphins trade for Brandon Marshall, the first round gets shaken up a little bit.

1 - STL: Bradford, Sam - QB - Oklahoma
After releasing Marc Bulger, this pick is now a lock, as are the first 4 picks.
2 - DET: Suh, Ndamukong - DT - Nebraska
Jim Schwartz know the importance of having a great DT after coaching Haynesworth in Tennessee. Suh is the best player in the draft and the Lions will not pass up on him.
3 - TB: McCoy, Gerald - DT - Oklahoma
He's not Ndamukong Suh, but he's a good consolation prize for the up and coming, young Buccaneers.
4 - WAS: Okung, Russell - T - Oklahoma St.
The best O-Line prospect who will give the Redskins some much needed improvement on their weak line.
5 - KC: Bulaga, Bryan - T - Iowa
Scott Pioli has come out on record saying he doesn't like picking Safety's in the top of the draft because of their lack of longevity.
6 - SEA: Williams, Trent - T - Oklahoma
Williams is a fast athletic tackle that fits their zone blocking scheme in Seattle.
7 - CLE: Berry, Eric - FS - Tennessee
A dream scenario for the Browns as he will help their secondary by leaps and bounds.
8 - OAK: Clausen, Jimmy - QB - Notre Dame
The Raiders were in the hunt for Donovan McNabb which means they realize how bad JaMarcus Russell is and they want to find a franchise QB.
9 - BUF: Davis, Anthony - T - Rutgers
The Bills need a lot of help on the O-Line.
10 - JAX: Morgan, Derrick - DE - Georgia Tech
The best pure pass rusher in the draft. Yes, they did add Aaron Kampman, but he is coming off a serious injury, and their Defense ranked last in sacks last year.
11 - DEN: Bryant, Dez - WR - Oklahoma St.
A true #1 Wideout that can replace Brandon Marshall.
12 - MIA: Thomas, Earl - SS - Texas
Thomas is a a ball-hawking safety that just flat out makes plays in the secondary. He would be a great addition to the Miami Defense. Watch for this pick to be traded so that Miami can possibly pick up Brandon Graham or Sergio Kindle later in round 1 and get a safety in round 2.
13 - SF: Haden, Joe - CB - Florida
Haden is the best shutdown corner in the draft and would be a steal at this point, so the Niners would love to have him.
14 - SEA: Pierre-Paul, Jason - DE - South Florida
Not alot of people are in love with JPP "potential" but he would be a good selection at this point especially after the loss of Patrick Kerney.
15 - NYG: Mcclain, Rolando - ILB - Alabama
A guy that has top 5 talent and would be the biggest steal of the draft for the Giants at the #15 spot.
16 - TEN: Wilson, Kyle - CB - Boise St.
They could use a starting corner opposite Cortland Finnegan, and Wilson is the type of player that the Titans organization looks to draft; athletic, versatile, productive, and a little under-valued.
17 - SF: Spiller, C.J. - RB - Clemson
Frank Gore has already said he really doesn't want the Niners to get Spiller in the draft, but Mike Singletary is a team first guy and knows that he needs to get playmakers on his team. There's really no depth behind Gore and it would give Alex Smith another weapon in the passing game.
18 - PIT: Pouncey, Maurkice - C - Florida
A smart, versatile blocker that will help the Steelers lack luster running game and keep Big Ben on his feet.
19 - ATL: Graham, Brandon - OLB - Michigan
Graham is projected as a 3-4 OLB but has always played the 4-3 DE spot. He'll get them plenty of sacks along the D-line.
20 - HOU: Williams, Dan - DT - Tennessee
At one point alot of people had put Brian Price at the pick here; then he slid down and Williams climbed up. They would love a guy like Kyle Wilson here but with him gone, they'll address their huge need at DT.
21 - CIN: Mays, Taylor - FS - USC
They've drafted two players out of USC early in the draft the past 2 years and won't mind going back to the pool of talent coming out of Souther Cal.
22 - NE: Gresham, Jermaine - TE - Oklahoma
They have invested 1st round picks in TE's in the past. (i.e. Ben Watson, Daniel Graham)
23 - GB: Iupati, Mike - OG - Idaho
Iupati is a great fit along their O-Line in Green Bay. He would be an immediate starter at Guard, and would help their O-line right from the start.
24 - PHI: Kindle, Sergio - OLB - Texas
They released Will Weatherspoon and have no great players at the linebacker spot.
25 - BAL: McCourty, Devin - CB - Rutgers
McCourty is the college teammate of Ravens star Running Back ray Rice and he has been talking the ear off of the Ravens front office about this guy. They had an impressive showing at his pro day, and could definitely use his services as a starting corner.
26 - ARI: Griffen, Everson - DE - USC
Griffen is a great talent for hem to find at 26, and he would be a very good long-term answer for them in the pass rush game. Joey Porter is good on one side, but he's also getting up there in years.
27 - DAL: Brown, Charles - T - USC
Brown is a former TE that converted to Tackle which means he has the speed and footwork. He's very smart and rarely gets penalized, but the knock on him will be his upper body strength as a starting Tackle.
28 - SD: Mathews, Ryan - RB - Fresno St.
Mathews has a great blend of size and speed a la LaDanian Tomlinson. The perfect replacement.
29 - NYJ: Odrick, Jared - DT - Penn State
He would be the perfect fit at the 3-4 DE spot and would be a starter immediately.
30 - MIN: Jackson, Kareem - CB - Alabama
A corner who plays more physical than his size would suggest. He would be an immediate starter and fill the Vikings top need. Watch for them to take a long look at Brian Price here to replace Pat Williams.
31 - IND: Saffold, Rodger - OT - Indiana
A hometown prospect who has size, speed, strength, and great technique. He has been quickly climbing up draft boards and I would not be surprised at all if the Colts take him over Bruce Campbell. They need Offensive Line and it would be crazy to think they would go any other direction here.
32 - NO: Weatherspoon, Sean - OLB - Missouri
A fantastic pick up for the Saints. He's a perfect fit in their linebacking corps, and would be a great steal at #32.
