With the 1st Pick in the NFL Draft, the St. Louis Rams select...

When Roger Goddell steps up to the podium this April, only the St. Louis Rams front office will know who they are selecting. Right now, the current prospects are Ndamukong Suh, Gerald McCoy, Sam Bradford, and the dark horse, Jimmy Clausen. TheRams have needed a Quarterback for the past three years and still need one with Marc Bulger's play continuing to decline. The only problem is that two 300-pound men stand in the way of them taking a Quarterback with the first selection. Ndamukong Suh is widely regarded as the nation's top player and best draft prospect available come April. However, the rumors of Gerald McCoy taking over that top spot are starting to gain traction. There's no denying that the Rams would love to have either player to shore up their defensive line and be the anchor of their defense but this is a league run by Quarterbacks. As we all saw last year, Peyton Manning and Drew Brees were the MVP's of the league and Super Bowl, respectively, and both players were in the Super Bowl. After "The Year of the Quarterback" can the Rams afford to not take Bradford or Clausen?

If I were the Rams i would either take Suh with the top pick or trade down to the #3 spot and switch with the Bucs to take JImmy Clausen and pile on an extra 2nd or 3rd round pick. Personally, i think that Jimmy Clausen is the more pro-ready Quarterback who can help turn this struggling Rams team around. After going into a struggling Notre Dame team and facing adversity, I don't see why he can't do the same in St. Louis especially with the likes of Steven Jackson helping him out. Bradford on the other hand had a wide variety of weapons around him at Oklahoma and an Offensive Line that led to barely any pressure on him in the pocket. Secondly, if i'm the team with the #1, or #3 pick for that matter, would I want to select the quarterback coming off of back-to-back injuries to his throwing shoulder?
