The NFL Combine's winners and losers

This past weekend a few hopeful, young college athletes such as Miami's Jimmy Graham, Cal's Jahvid Best, and Ole Miss's Dexter McCluster. Graham who was a former University of Miami basketball player played his one year of eligibilty at Tight End for the Hurricanes. He only hauled in 17 catches, 5 of which were for touchdowns. Graham's 4.5 speed and 6-8 260 pound frame could possibly make him a great target for NFL Quarterbacks. Graham wasn't the only player making some noise at the combine this weekend. Jahvid Best, the Cal Running Back, just came off a serious concussion injury and had a lot of questions surrounding him at the combine this weekend. He silenced many of his critics after turning in a 4.35 40-time. Best was well-known for his speed and quickness in college, but NFL teams wont really know how he has recovered from his injury until he takes his first NFL hit in a game. The other guy receiving a lot of attention after the Senior Bowl was Dexter McCluster. McCluster is vastly undersized and was a guy, similar to Best, who was known for his speed. However, he did not turn in a very good 40-time this weekend. He ran a 4.58 40-time which was just barely better than the 4.62 ran by South Florida Defensive End, Jason Pierre-Paul.

So far the fastest time turned in at the Combine was a 4.28 by Jacoby Ford, the receiver from Clemson, so look for him to be drafted by the Oakland Raiders sometime during Day 1 of the Draft.
