Ingram Takes Home The Heisman

Last night Alabama Running Back, Mark Ingram, beat out Stanford standout, Toby Gerhart, by only 28 points, the closest margin of victory in Heisman history. Ingram is the third consecutive Sophomore to win the Heisman trophy. following Tim Tebow and Sam Bradford. Mark put together a very impressive year for the # Ranked Alabama Crimson Tide. He's rushed for 1,542 yards on 249 carries, giving him a 6.2 yard average per carry. Ingram was also very effective in the passing game which has starred a first-year starter at Quarterback in Greg McElroy. He averaged nearly 8.5 yards every time he touched the ball, and contributed to the Bama's perfect season by scoring 18 Touchdowns on the season. Although he is the newest member of the Heisman fraternal order, his sights are set on Colt McCoy and the Texas Longhorns. The Crimson Tide and the Longhorns will be dueling it out for the BCS National Championship on January 7, 2009 in Pasadena, CA.
